The E.coli levels for Frenchman’s Bay East and West were significantly elevated above the Provincial Standard of 100 E.coli. Out of 14 Durham Region beaches, 10 beaches will be posted as unsafe for swimming during the period August 3 – 9th inclusive and longer depending upon future sample results. This is the first time that Frenchman’s Bay East/West have been posted this season. Usually, these beaches are posted approximately 20 – 30% of the time each season.
